Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Tomato sauce
1/3 cup Firebug Grilling Sauce Hot BBQ Sauce
- 2 cups Chicken breast or thighs (marinated 4-6 hours w/ 1/8 cup Firebug) grill or bake until caramelized
- 2 Balls of Pizza dough for 14 inch rounds or 2 flatbreads of similar size
- 1/8 cup Pepperoni (diced or thin strips)
- 1/8 cup Italian sausage
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper (seeded and finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup red onion (sliced thin)
- 2 tbsp jalapeño rings (finely minced)
- 3 tbsp Dill pickle slices (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
Directions
To prepare your BBQ pizza, preheat your Yoder Smokers YS640 Pellet grill* to 425°F. Once heated, place the pizza crust directly on the grill grates and cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes. After this time, carefully flip the crust using a spatula or tongs to ensure even cooking on both sides. Continue grilling the crust until it reaches your desired level of crispness and doneness.
In a bowl, combine tomato sauce with Firebug Grilling Sauce Hot BBQ Sauce. Stir well until thoroughly mixed. Adjust the ratio of the sauces to your desired level of heat and flavor. This tangy and spicy sauce mixture will serve as the perfect base for your BBQ pizza, adding depth and a fiery kick to every bite.
Once you have your pizza dough ready, spread the prepared sauce mixture evenly over the dough, ensuring full coverage. Next, layer on the marinated chicken, pepperoni, and sausage, distributing them evenly across the pizza. Then, add your desired toppings such as peppers, onions, and pickles to complement the flavors.
After arranging the toppings, sprinkle the cheeses evenly over the pizza to ensure each bite is packed with cheesy goodness. For an extra burst of flavor, drizzle lightly with more Firebug Grilling Sauce Hot BBQ Sauce before placing the pizza on the grill or smoker.
Once assembled, transfer the pizza to the preheated grill or smoker and cook until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on the pizza as it cooks, rotating if necessary for even cooking.
Once done, remove from the grill, slice, and serve hot for a mouthwatering BBQ pizza experience. Enjoy!
